Chinarpos Private Limited ("we", "us") runs ChinarPOS. This policy explains how we handle personal information on our website and in our products. It is written with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 in mind.
1. Who this covers
- Visitors to chinarpos.com.
- Businesses (merchants) and team members who use ChinarPOS.
- Customers of a merchant, whose details a merchant adds to ChinarPOS or who order through QR Ordering. For this group, the merchant decides why their data is collected and we process it on the merchant's behalf.
2. What we collect
- From the website: the details you give in the contact or demo form (name, email, phone number, business type, message) and your email if you subscribe to updates.
- From merchants and team members: account and business details, branch and team details, and the documents needed to verify a business for online payments.
- From merchant operations: menu, orders, payments records, stock, till sessions, staff activity and the customer details a merchant records, such as name, phone number, email, order history, loyalty points and store credit.
- From QR Ordering: the name and phone number a guest enters when ordering, and the order itself.
3. How we use it
We do not sell personal information.
- To provide, support and secure the service, and to answer your enquiry.
- To process orders and payments and to produce receipts and reports.
- To meet legal obligations and to prevent fraud and misuse.
- To tell you about ChinarPOS, if you asked us to. You can opt out at any time.
5. How long we keep it
We keep information for as long as it is needed for the purposes above, and for as long as the law requires us to keep business and tax records. When it is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
6. Your rights
You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct it, or erase it, and you can withdraw consent you have given. You can also nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf. If you are a merchant's customer, we may direct your request to that merchant.
To use these rights or to raise a complaint about how we handle your information, contact privacy@chinarpos.com (or our Data Protection desk at dpo@chinarpos.com). If you are not satisfied with our response, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.
7. Keeping information safe
ChinarPOS uses individual logins, roles that limit what each person can see and do, manager PIN approvals for sensitive actions, and a record of important activity. Each business's data is kept separate from other businesses' data. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise. More detail is on our Security page.
9. Children
ChinarPOS is a business service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, other than what a merchant's own customers may provide when ordering.
10. Changes and contact
We will update this policy when our practices change and change the date at the top.
